2012

January
- workshop at Ruscombe Mansion

Amidst their busy trip to the US, three members of the Keisho Art Association stopped by the Ruscombe Mansion in Baltimore to share and to use Mixtum to draw and open onto conversation. The Association is comprised of members of all ages and have a wonderfully creative approach to encouraging their members to engage with their senses, like asking them to create drawings based on smell or touch. They have partnerships with art colleges in the US, such as MICA and Tyler.  A Mixtum board travelled back with them and we are eager to find out how it will be received in Japan.

Big thanks to our host Diana Keener (Licensed Acupuncturist and teacher at Tai Sophia Institute) and to Risa Ono (Risa had Ms. Niu as an art teacher in middle school and has amazingly kept in touch ever since. She holds a BFA in Fibers from MICA and works as a costume painter/dyer),
for bringing everyone together and for our friends Melanie and Melissa for joining us!
